ISSUE 1: According to the instructions given to Bishop Angadiath by the Congregation for Oriental Churches in Rome.
"This congregation foresees a pastoral care which is sensitive to the Knanaya expectation to be served by KNANAYA PRIESTS, but does not make any allowance for endogamy to play a role in defining the membership of faithful in any mission or parish established by the Eparchy"
Fr. Mutholam by renouncing his Knanaya membership by renouncing his lineage to Kotaayam Diocese is has formally left the Knanaya family and is now officially a Syro-Malabar Catholic.
SO FR. MUTHOLAM CANNOT SERVE AS A PARISH PRIEST OF ANY OF THE KNANAYA CHURCHES BECUASE HE IS NOW VIOLATING THE INSTRUCTIONS OF THE CONGREGATION FOR ORIENTAL CHURCHES.
THIS IS IN PLAIN VIOLATION OF THE INSTRUCTIONS ISSUED BY THE CONGREGATION OF ORIENTAL CHURCHES.
".......all pastoral and spiritual care from KNANAYA PRIESTS AT KNANAYA PARISH/MISSION where his/her Knanaya spouse belongs" FROM THE ABOVE LETTER ISSUED BY BISHOP ANGADIATH, IT IS CLEAR THAT FR. MUTHOLAM'S OR ANY SUCH KNANAYA PRIESTS LEAVING KNANAYA DIOCESE ALSO GOES AGAINST BISHOP ANGADIATHS INSTRUCTIONS IN-ADDITION TO THE INSTRUCTIONS FROM ROME. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!
ISSUE 2: There are more than 2000 ordained priests from Kerala who are serving in various American dioceses as Vicars (pastors) and Asst Vicars in different Latin Churches spread across more than 40 states of USA.
None of these Latin American diocese has asked the kerala priests to renounce their affiliation with their parent diocese in kerala and become part of the local diocese, even after serving 12-15 years. So why this new requirement from the Syro Malabar diocese to make Knanaya priests covert to Syro after completing 5 years in usa??
THE ONLY EXPLAINATION IS THAT THIS IS AN UNHOLY ALLIANCE BETWEEN Bp ANGADIATH-Bp MOOLAKATTU-Fr MUTHOLAM TO BREAK KNANAYISM. THIS IS NOTHING BUT A STRATEGIC MOVE. THIS IS AN OPEN AND BLATANT FRAUD COMMITED ON THE KNANAYA POPULATION IN NORTH AMAERICA. Again this goes against the rescript of the Oriental congregation.
ISSUE 3: During last Thursdays (12/27/2012) informal meeting after mass, Fr. Mutholam explained that ALL the Knanaya priests serving in the Knanaya parishes under the Syro Malabar Diocese of Chicago will have to renounce their Kottayam membership and apply to the Chicago Syro diocese UPON COMPLETION OF 5 years in USA.
IS THE ABOVE COMMENT TRUE OR FALSE?
This question goes to the so called PALLI-COMMITTTE members. People who are interacting closely with the various Knanaya Parish priests on behalf of the ordinary knanayakars!! People who have been entrusted with the responsibility to protect and serve the best interests of Knanaya parishioners and Knanaya priests within the Knanaya churches of America. WE THE ORDINARY KNANAYAKARS DEMAND AN ANSWER TO THE ABOVE QUESTION.
ISSUE 4: If the above issue 3 is TRUE, then do you all realize what just happened from a LONG-TERM perspective?
A) All the existing Knanaya priests serving Knanaya churches for 5 years in North America will have to make a decisions if they want to remain under Kottayam diocese and return to Kottayam or convert to Sryo and remain under Chicago diocese. OFF COURSE that will be termed as an individual priests voluntary decision, BUT IN REALITY IT WILL BE FORCED/ COERCED ONTO THEM.
B) This is a master strategy. In the long term the number of Knanaya priests serving under Kottayam Diocese will diminish and this rule can be extended to other regions under the grand Syro umbrella, such as Europe, Australia etc. and slowly but steadily over a life time Kottayam diocese will be renouncing their own sons and sending them to Syro Malabar dioceses all over.
C) This is called "LEAD-BY-EXAMPLE". First the VG renounces Knanayaism and changes to Syro, Then other Knanaya Priests will renounces Knanayaism and changes to Syro and finally the sada Knanayaikars to follow suit. Those who do not will be made to feel like a foolish minority. This is a blatant fraud being committed on the Knanayaites.
D) By using this strategy over 10-15 years, a day will finally come when The KNANAYA CHURCHES IN AMERICA WILL BE SERVED BY NON-KNANAYA PRIESTS.
