ഡെന്മാര്ക്കില് എന്തോ ചീഞ്ഞു നാറുന്നു എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞത് പോലെ, ടെക്സാസ് സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ ഹൂസ്റ്റണില് എന്തൊക്കെയോ സംഭവിക്കുന്നു. അവിടെ ഉള്ളവര്ക്ക് പോലും എന്താണ് നടക്കുന്നതെന്ന് അറിയില്ലാത്തത് കൊണ്ട് പുറത്തു വന്നത് ഊഹാപോഹങ്ങള് മാത്രം; പിന്നെ കുബുദ്ധികളായ ചില തല്പരകക്ഷികളുടെ കുപ്രചരണവും.
ക്നാനായമക്കളുടെ എണ്ണത്തില് മൂന്നാം സ്ഥാനത്താണ് ഇപ്പറഞ്ഞ ഹൂസ്റ്റണ് നഗരം. അവിടെയുള്ള ക്നാനയക്കാര് വര്ഷങ്ങളായി സ്നേഹത്തിലും സൌഹാര്ദ്ദത്തിലും കഴിഞ്ഞു പോന്നു. സമുദായംഗങ്ങളുടെ വകയായി അവിടെ ഒരു കമ്മ്യൂണിറ്റി സെന്റര് വാങ്ങിയിരുന്നു. വിവധ ഉദ്ദേശങ്ങളായിരുന്നു അതിന്റെ പിന്നില്. ആ സെന്ററില് വിശുദ്ധ കുര്ബാനയും ഭംഗിയായി നടന്നുപോന്നു. ഭാവിയില് വിശാലമായ സെന്ററിന്റെ കോമ്പൌണ്ടില് തന്നെ ഒരു പള്ളി പണിയണമെന്നും അവിടെ ഉള്ളവര് ആഗ്രഹിച്ചിരുന്നു. അതിനോടടുത്ത് ക്നാനായകാര്ക്കായുള്ള ഹൌസിംഗ് പ്രോജക്ടും വന്നു.
അപ്പോള് ഇതാ എത്തുന്നു ഒരു ക്നാനായ പുരോഹിതന്...... എല്ലാം കീഴ്മേല് മറിഞ്ഞു. സമുദായം അച്ചന്റെ പിന്നിലും എതിരെയും അണിനിരന്നു. അവര് തന്നെ പിന്നീട് കേരള കോണ്ഗ്രസ് ശൈലിയില് പല ഗ്രൂപ്പുകളായി, കാലുമാറ്റം നിത്യ സംഭവമായി. പള്ളി വാങ്ങണം. ആദ്യം പള്ളി പണിയാനാണ് തുടങ്ങിയത്. അതിന് പലരും എതിരായിരുന്നു. ഏതായാലും അധികൃതരില് നിന്ന് അനുവാദം കിട്ടിയില്ലെന്നു മാത്രമല്ല, തെറ്റായ വിവരം നല്കിയതിന്റെ പേരില് കനത്ത ഒരു തുക നഷ്ടവുമായി.
പിന്നീടങ്ങോട്ട് പള്ളി വാങ്ങാനുള്ള തീവ്രശ്രമമായിരുന്നു. ആരെയോ സന്തോഷിപ്പിക്കാനായി, യുദ്ധകാലാടിസ്ഥാനത്തില് പള്ളി വാങ്ങാനുള്ള ശ്രമം ആരംഭിച്ചു. സമുദായാംഗങ്ങളില് നിന്നും ഉയര്ന്നു വന്ന എതിര്പ്പുകളെല്ലാം അവഗണിക്കപ്പെട്ടു. പള്ളി വാങ്ങുകതന്നെ ചെയ്തു. എന്തോ മഹത്തായ കാര്യം സാധിച്ച മട്ടില് അത് ആഘോഷിക്കപ്പെട്ടു. സമൂഹത്തിലുണ്ടായ ഭിന്നത ആരും കാര്യമായി എടുത്തില്ല. പള്ളി വാങ്ങലുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടു സാമ്പത്തികക്രമക്കേടുകള് നടന്നതിന്റെ കഥകള് വെളിയില് വന്നു. ഫെബ്രുവരി മാസം ഈ ക്രമക്കേടുകള് മൂലക്കാട്ട് പിതാവിന്റെ ശ്രദ്ധയില് പെടുത്തിയപ്പോള്, “ഞാന് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടിട്ടാണ് പള്ളി വാങ്ങിയത്, അതിനെക്കുറിച്ച് ആരും ഒന്നും പറയേണ്ട” എന്ന ധാര്ഷ്ട്യത്തോടെയുള്ള പ്രതികരണമാണ് ലഭിച്ചത്.
മെത്രാന്റെ അഭിലാഷപ്രകാരം പള്ളിവാങ്ങുമ്പോള് ഉണ്ടാകുന്ന സാമ്പത്തിക ക്രമക്കേടുകള് വിശുദ്ധ ക്രമക്കെടുകളാണോ എന്ന് ആരും തിരിച്ചു ചോദിച്ചില്ല. ചോദിച്ചാല് അവനെ ശപിച്ചു ഭസ്മമാക്കും!
തനിക്ക് യാതൊരു അധികാരവും ഇല്ലാത്ത രാജ്യത്ത്, അങ്ങാടിയത്തിന്റെ രൂപതയില് മൂലക്കാടന് എന്തിന് പള്ളി വാങ്ങാന് പറഞ്ഞു എന്നാ ചോദ്യത്തിന് ഉത്തരമില്ല.
ഏതായാലും ആഘോഷങ്ങള് അധികം നാള് നീണ്ടുനിന്നില്ല. പള്ളി വാങ്ങാന് കൂട്ട് നിന്നവര്ക്ക് താങ്ങാനാവാത്ത സാമ്പത്തികഭാരമാണ് ഉണ്ടായത്. ചിക്കാഗോയില് നിന്ന് വ്യതസ്തമായ പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കാത്ത അനുഭവമാണ് മുത്തോലത്തിനു ഹൂസ്റ്റണില് നേരിടേണ്ടി വന്നത്. പള്ളി ഉണ്ടായിട്ടും ഭൂരിപക്ഷം ക്നാനയമക്കളും അടുത്തുള്ള ലത്തീന് പള്ളിയില് പോക്ക് തുടര്ന്നു. ലത്തീന് പള്ളികള് അനാശ്യാസ്യകേന്ദ്രങ്ങളാണെന്ന പ്രചരണം അവിടെ തീരെ വിലപ്പോയില്ല.
കുടിശിഖ മുടങ്ങി ബാങ്ക്കാര് ജപ്തി ചെയ്യും എന്ന നില എത്താറായപ്പോള് “ചിക്കാഗോ കുബുദ്ധി” പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചു. സ്ഥിരമടവ്: എല്ലാ കുറ്റങ്ങളും വൈദികന്റെ തലയില് കെട്ടി വയ്ക്കുക, ഒരു സ്ഥലം മാറ്റകുപ്പായമണിയിച്ചു മറ്റൊരാളെ അങ്ങോട്ട് ഇറക്കുമതി ചെയ്യുക. സംഗതിയെല്ലാം ശുഭം! പക്ഷെ അങ്ങാടിയത്ത് പിതാവ് സഹകരിച്ചില്ല; കുലംകുത്തി! അടവ് മാറ്റി. വികാരിയ്ക്ക് കുലംകുത്തി കുപ്പായം അണിയിച്ചു കൊടുത്തു. അച്ചന് സമസ്താപരാധങ്ങളും ഏറ്റു പറഞ്ഞു. “I was under pressure.” കുറെപ്പേരെങ്കിലും അടവ് തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞു.
“അതിനു ഞങ്ങള് എന്ത് വേണം?” ബാങ്ക് വന്നു ജപ്തി ചെയ്യട്ടെ; കാശ് മുടക്കിയവര് അനുഭവിക്കട്ടെ. Your actions are your responsibility; so are its consequences.
ഇന്നലെ ഹൂസ്റ്റണ് ടൌണ് ഹാളില് വച്ച് നടന്ന യോഗത്തില് പള്ളി വാങ്ങാന് അച്ചന്റെ കൈയ്യാളരായി നടന്നവര് ഉള്പ്പടെയുള്ളവരില് ഒരാള് പോലും പാവം വികാരിയെ പിന്തുണച്ചില്ല. ഏല്ലാവര്ക്കും മനസ്സിലായി പള്ളി വാങ്ങിപ്പിച്ചത് വല്ലാത്ത അതിക്രമം ആയിപ്പോയെന്നു.
ചിലര് അനുഭവത്തില് നിന്നേ പഠിക്കൂ.....

ReplyDeletepeople are asking everywhere in the light of recents events and issues,media and communication are better and people are travelling out of kaipuzha and uzhavoor territories and seeing the world. people( most)are awakened and they see the hypocracy be it from priest, bishop or pope. we are taught and trained to follow the current,never against the current if its religion. so frikking sensitive and sentimental. there are so many good causes out there to spend your money on, not for moolakkatt or mutholath.we all know that priests make a lot of money and do they ever contribute and they dont have family to take care like us. wake up guys. if you have more than enough money spend it elsewhere thatis counted.ponder.. good luck all. dr.jose

ReplyDeleteNew York people will make sure that the facility they just bought will not be open to public. The people there have approached the town supervisor to make sure that all violations are removed and ready to facilitate 200 families, which the facility can not accommodate. Maybe it can be used to accommodate the Gundathalavan from Ernakulam.
Houston people are smarter than anyone in the world. We will take care of our problem with out the interference from Worldkna. We are finding ways to foreclose this property, so that the people will get their money back, not Angady. Achen may or may not go back, it is not our problem, it is the problem of the trustees to find ways to pay him or he will write his own check from the Mission fund.

Dear Fr.Illi, you might be very smart and all, but the mistake you and many like you made is that you assumed that we American mallus are lost, We have no brains, the Kerala Mallus are very smart and they can roll over the american mallus... We have been here for the past 30 years, so maybe we know a little more about living, surviving, raising a family etc in USA than you... Kapish??

Just because you had a success in EKM, does not guarentee anything... The American world is not what Muthu told you..The rality outside your window is very different. Awaken and learn to show some respect to the lay ordinary minimum wage person. Start at the bottom not at the top.. They MAYBE u'll start making some progress.

Where did these new generation priests from India think they can take major decisions that impacts my family budget? How did they assume that they can get away with it and we will just suck it up?
How come these priests are so cool about lying in your face? How come their definition of "Truth and nothing but the truth" is so diluted? Where are your values?
How come they speak so loosely about the 10% of our lost children and find no words of appretiation for the 90% of decent and obedient childrern? How did they assume that teenagers in Kerala are more value driven that our children? and talk accordingly?
How did these priests asssume that they can manupulate our wives to get to our money and drive a wedge in our families in the name of church?
How come these Kerala based preiests have all taken a stand of no-compromise with any opposing views and they just be-little anybody who has any kinda opposing views?
Where did these people come from???? How come none of them can provide a decent Qurbana in English to our younger couples, but they try to send messages of Christ using malayalam where 60% of your larger parishioner do not read and write malayalam? Did your seminary teachers not tell you that LANGUAGE is one of the primary tools to reach a parishener?

ReplyDeleteHouston church has to be sold either today or tomorrow. It has to happen. This is the only way to unite this great community. Some people stole it as we all have the proof infront of us. The question now is do you still want to contribute your hard earned money to this cause. Absolutely no. Use your senses and move on.... Do not waste your money for some one else's mistake. Let the people who bought it suffer.........
