It is totally absurd to say that the KANAs are members of the Knanaya community..
e-media messages are not 'destructive'
The electronic media filled with messages showing how the pastoral letter dated 20th Dec 2012 of Mar Angadiath detrimentally affect the Knanaya traditions and its existence, reveals only the truth and the real position. So it is most incorrect and unethical to refer such e-media messages as 'destructive' when it is truly most useful and helpful to the good of Knanaya community. It might be 'destructive' only to forces against Knanaya.
The pastoral letter is crystal clear.
It is wrong to say that the pastoral letter has no clarity when it clearly states that it "does not make any allowance for endogamy to play a role in defining the membership of faithful in any mission or parish". So, it is crystal clear that endogamy has absolutely no role in defining membership in a Knanaya parish according to the pastoral letter.
It further clarifies that “family is one unit and its unity is very important.” “Family unity (and spiritual well-being) are our primary concerns.“ This means that the families cannot be separated and that they will remain together in the Knanaya parish. It is said that 'man and wife will be one flesh and body.' So the Church will not/cannot separate them!
What other clarification we need! Kindly do not underestimate the prudence and common sense of Knanites. It is only the total trust, love and true fear of the Knanites to the Church and the clergy, those are being misused to make such representations against the reality.
What we need is action and leadership, not the guidance and support.
What we need is not the guidance and support of Mar Angadiath to get the rescript cancelled. What we need is action and leadership of Mar Angadiath to get the rescript canceled., which he is not likely to provide, though he is in charge of the Knanaya parishes. So, this appeal may not be fruitful.
Ignorance about Knanaya tradition.
It is so awful and alarming to know that the VG in charge of the Community-parishes doesn't even know 'what is the Knanaya tradition' or 'who is a member of the Knanaya community' or even the difference between 'being a Knanite' and 'being a member'!!! He also doesn't seem not to know that.
'Though all the members of the Community are Knanites, all Knanites (ie. the exogamous KANAs) are not its members.'
Endogamous birth alone doesn't make our tradition. Endogamous marriage too is a part of it, if the Knanite is married. It is a very sad state of affairs that he knows only the first part! What he is speaking now, is about the old 'Mar Moolakat formula" revealed publicly at Chicago, which Mar Moolakkat himself has magnanimously corrected and published later through the 'Apnades.'
Suppression of facts
It is a clear suppression of facts to say that only the 'KANA families' are not considered as Knanaya. Even the 'exogamous Knanite' is not considered to be Knanaya. It is not only the KANA families which have no membership in Kottayam diocese, the KANAs too have not.
There is absolutely no point in getting a further clarification from Mar Angadiath that the KANAs (who broke endogamy and who have only 'endogamous births') alone are members in Knanaya parishes and not their families. NO TRUE KNANITE OR THE COMMUNITY WILL ACCEPT THIS because even the KANAs cannot be members as per our tradition.
To be a member, the Knanite should not be in marriage with a non-Knanite.
No representations are necessary.
Moreover, even if the VG thinks that the directive is not clear, no such representations from the pastoral council are necessary. He could directly take up the matter with Mar Angadiath and get a further clarified order which he thinks, the people needed.
Pastoral council does not represent the the parishioners.
