കാരിത്താസ്‌ മെഡിക്കല്‍ കോളേജ് ആകുന്നു എന്ന വാര്‍ത്തയില്‍ ആഹ്ലാദിക്കാത്ത ക്നാനായ സമുദായാംഗം ഉണ്ടാകുമെന്ന് തോന്നുന്നില്ല. പ്രതികരണം അറിയുവാനായി ഫോണിലൂടെ പലരെയും ബന്ധപ്പെടാന്‍ ശ്രമിച്ചു. വളരെ കുറച്ചു ആളുകളെ മാത്രമാണ് ഫോണില്‍ കിട്ടിയത്. അവരുടെ പ്രതികരണം ചുവടെ കൊടുക്കുന്നു.

This is a very heart-warming piece of glad news. Let us thank God and seek His blessings for our hard work ahead. Hats off to the vision and sustained efforts of all those worked on this long cherished goal. Over 50 yars of our work in health care at Caritas and elsewhere has been rewarded with this recognition and honor.  The immediate need is to recruit respectable, renowned and competent teaching and administrative staff.

Experienced Knanaya health professionals in US, UK, etc. must lend their support. Let us strive to make this a good model for all.

കാരിത്താസ് മെഡിക്കല്‍ കോളേജാകുന്നു എന്നറിയുന്നതില്‍ വളരെ സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നു. ഇതില്‍ ക്നാനായ സമുദായംഗങ്ങള്‍ മാത്രമല്ല, കോട്ടയം പ്രദേശത്തുള്ളവര്‍ക്കെല്ലാം അഭിമാനിക്കാം. നല്ല നിലയില്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്ന നമ്മുടെ കാന്‍സര്‍ ഇന്‍സ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് ഉള്ളതിന്റെ പ്രയോജനം നാമെല്ലാം അറിയുന്നു; അനുഭവിക്കുന്നു.

ഈ മെഡിക്കല്‍ കോളേജ് യാഥാര്‍ത്ഥ്യമാകുമ്പോള്‍ ധനസമ്പാദനത്തിനുള്ള മറ്റൊരു മാര്‍ഗം മാത്രമായി കാണാതെ സമുദായത്തിന്റെ പുരോഗമനത്തിനും സാധുക്കള്‍ക്ക് നല്ല രീതിയിലുള്ള ചികിത്സ പ്രാപ്യമാകുന്നതിനും സാധ്യമാകട്ടെ എന്ന് ആശംസിക്കുന്നു.

ഇത് വളരെ സന്തോഷകരമായ വാര്‍ത്തയാണ്. പുതിയതായി ഇത്തരമൊരു സ്ഥാപനം തുടങ്ങുന്നതിന്റെ പ്രയാസങ്ങള്‍ നമുക്കില്ല. എല്ലാ സൌകര്യങ്ങളും നിലവിലുണ്ട്, വളരെ നല്ല പ്രദേശത്താണ് സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. അതും പോരാതെ, പുതിയ ഒരു പബ്ലിസിറ്റിയുടെയും ആവശ്യമില്ല. പരക്കെ അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന സ്ഥാപനമാണ് കാരിത്താസ്‌.

ആകെ ഒരു ഉത്കണ്ഠ എന്ന് പറയാവുന്നത്, മെഡിക്കല്‍ കോളേജ് ആയിക്കഴിയുമ്പോള്‍ വളരെയേറെ രോഗികളെ കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്യേണ്ടി വരും അതിനുള്ള മാനേജ്‌മന്റ്‌ പ്രാഗല്‍ഭ്യം നമുക്കുണ്ടോ എന്നതാണ്. നിലവിലുള്ള Administrative and Management efficiency  ഇരുപത്തൊന്നാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിന്റെ നിലവാരത്തിലേയ്ക്ക് ഉയര്‍ത്താന്‍ സത്വരനടപടികള്‍ സ്വീകരിക്കും എന്ന് വിശ്വസിക്കാം.

The name “Carital Medical College” evokes memories of the humble beginnings of this beloved institution. It was more than fifty years ago that Bishop Tharayil and his advisors thought of a hospital for the community and the district away from the bustle of Kottayam. Today Caritas Hospital is a landmark of Kerala. Through the years, and under the stewardship of Archbishop Kunnacherry, it has developed into a multi-disciplinary institution. Cancer care, cardiology, Ayurveda and such specialities have been added.

The Nursing school is renowned for the calibre of its students. If only the new medical college can emulate the nursing school and college, it will do us proud. Knanaya community and all of India require well trained doctors. Let us hope the new Caritas Medical College will not fail our expectations.

ക്നാനായ സമുദായത്തിന്റെ വളര്‍ച്ചയുടെ പാതയില്‍ ഇത് ഒരു നാഴികക്കല്ലാണ് എന്ന കാര്യത്തില്‍ യാതൊരു സംശയവും ഇല്ല.  പുതിയ മെഡിക്കല്‍ കോളേജിന് ആരോഗ്യരംഗത്ത്‌ എല്ലാവര്ക്കും അഭിമാനകരമായ സംഭാവന ചെയ്യാനാകും എന്ന് എനിക്ക് തീര്‍ച്ചയുണ്ട്.
