Dear KCCNA EC members:
The proposed Symposium is a great move from DKCC if that is planned in good faith. However, I sincerely feel that it will be another show by few leaders without a clear and convincing objective. Most of our folks know what exactly is our issue. What we do not have is a unity of thought on how to resolve the issue because we are indeed in a vicious circle. Our hierarchy wants us to stay within our church rules and we are not happy with its directive. We simply cannot break this vicious circle without the support of our hierarchy. If DKCC can bring all of our leaders (hierarchy and laity) from all over the world to attend the proposed symposium, it will be a fantastic move. Otherwise, it would simply be another opportunity for few of our laity leaders to have a good time and networking themselves.
Fortunately or unfortunately, our hierarchy wants us to be patient and blindly follow its directions. We, the "Pavam Viswasikal," are truly confused and continue to "pay, pray, and obey" as directed by our hierarchy. Our laity leaders unfortunately are divided. I know for sure that a great number of us stay away from the dirty "politics" and simply don't care. I call such people as the "aristocrats" in our society. Further, I do not think our hierarchy will ever accept any laity move unless that is in line with its thought and church rules.
KCC has initiated a move to get Sui Juris for our church/faith. If my understanding is correct, KCCNA is also supporting KCC in that endeavour. Most of our individual associations unanimously rejected "Moolakattu" formula even though many of us continue to support our non-endogamous churches. Now, here comes DKCC, for what? Do we have the full support of our hierarchy, KCC, KCCNA, and our laity associations for this symposium? If not, why do we have to have such a show? Why DKCC cannot simply support the KCC? I am not sure even the move by KCC has the full support of our hierarchy. If there is support I am sure that would be as always from behind the scene.
I do not mind if DKCC can lead the process to collectively find a solution to our problem. But, my only worry is this - the symposium probably would result in further division among us unless it can mobilize the support of all laity associations and, particularly, our hierarchy. Even if DKCC comes up with an approach to break the vicious circle, what is the guarantee that it will be approved by our Hierarchy? It will not unless that is in line with the church rules, period.
So long as we have to stay within the Roman Catholic system, we simply do not have much choice other than to be patient and supportive of our hierarchy. The only way out is to find a solution that is also acceptable to our hierarchy whether that would be to continue pounding at the Roman regime until we get our rights established or to walk away from it to establish a strictly endogamous church for us.
It is very unfortunate that we have to go though this never-ending mess and to helplessly see our next generation children, especially those who are born outside of India, are simply walking away from our community. I pray that the DKCC attempt is in good faith and would result in our unity at large.
All the best.
Peter Chemmalakuzhy
I too share the concerns and doubts expressed by Mr. Peter Chemmalakuzhy. The absence of Dr. Shiens Akasala is cospicous among the invitees to the proposed DKCC symposium in Chicago. I feel that the timing and the motive of symposium are quiestionable. KCCNA is having its convention in just a month. More than 700 Knanya families including our Bishops and community leaders from India will be present at the convention. Such a convention is the proper forum to discuss our continuing concerns and take appropriate remedial measures.
ReplyDeleteMy doubts about the motives of this symposium has its basis. I am told that two of the past KCCNA Presidents have refused to register for the upcoming Orlando convention. Even they had refused to give consent to include their names and photos with the list of past KCCNA Presidents circulated in one of the convention communications.
The DKCC itself is a group of community cheaters. What i cannot understand is that why all are giving importance to them. If dog barks, does anyone bothers to open the door. It is to tell the community that there are some pranchi dogs are there. That is all. When they We feel to puke when we see their faces. They are a disgrace to the knanaya community

ReplyDeleteWhatever this Pranchiyettanmar says and reasons, there is no use. you proved to be the great pranchies and the muthu devotees by yourself. When there is a convention comes in a month time, there is all the possibility to discuss this matter. Now you are talking about patience. Don't u have common sense and back born. What makes you to say that all should obey the hyrarchy. You and your house can do it. No problem as you people are waiting to swallow whatever the so called hyrarchi vomits. You are not only a shame to the community, but a total shame to your children and family. Nanamillathavante vedopadesam. Too shameful for you pranchi.
