Rotary Club, Lions Club എന്നീ ക്ലബുകളുടെ രീതിയില് ക്നാനയകാര്ക്ക് മാത്രമായുള്ള ഒരു ഇന്റര്നാഷണല് ക്ലബ് എന്ന ആശയമാണ് അദ്ദേഹം മുന്നോട്ട് വച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. ഇത് നല്ല നിര്ദ്ദേശമായി തോന്നിയതിനാല് ഇവിടെ പോസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്യുന്നു.

The recent trends in the internet grapevine prove beyond doubt that it is time for all factions of the Knanaya Community to join together. Now the Knanaya Community is spread over as Jacobites, Catholics, Pentecostals, Jehovah’s Witnesses, etc. We are now divided and being ruled.
It is time we formed some kind of association modelled after Rotary Club or Lion’s Club. The membership should be restricted to ordinary Knanaya persons only, regardless of whichever religious community they belong to. Bishops and priests must be excluded. We can have such clubs wherever there is a large Knanaya population, both in India and abroad. We can even have our own Club buildings, and engage in helping weaker members of our community.
The religious hierarchy, who wants to pollute the Knanaya Community can be effectively warded off by formation of such a Knanaya International Club.
Our youngsters can mingle at functions of this Club and would help them in knowing each other, and even in finding Knanaya life partners.
On the whole this Club would assure the longevity of the Knanaya Community.

ReplyDeleteGreat thought! What are the membership criteria? I understand the idea to keep this club strictly a laity association. However, if we plan to maintain our "strict" endogamy part, then we probably will have to face legal issues depending on the laws of each country. We need to rule out any legal constraints before we seriously think about the formation of such a club. Just a warning!
ReplyDeleteLocal associaltions are just that. These are laitiny groups with strictly endogamus knanaites as members only. Nobody ther than that can even think of gaining membership currently. Just support you local associatins, thats all!!
DeleteJust identify the drawbacks in the existing structer. Its been 20 plus years so there are areas we can mature up as a society and better our selves. Example - Change the leadership selection criteria from an panel based election based system to something better that will stop this internal divisions. Then keep the clergy and bishops at arms lenght. It will do the trick. Let us run owr house(associations) properly and maturely. Then let the priests run their kana chruches or what ever their way. Knanayism will flourish. The milk will remain separated from water.

ഇതിനെക്കുറിച്ച് കമന്റ് പോസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്യുന്നവര് അവരുടെ യഥാര്ത്ഥ പേരും, ഇമെയില് അഡ്രസ്സും വച്ചാല്, സമാനചിന്താഗതികാര്ക് തമ്മില് കൂടുതല് ആശയവിനിമയം നടത്താന് സാധിക്കും.

ReplyDeleteyou left out one group "knanaya same sex couples", it is legal at lot of countries, and they are keeping endogamy .make sure the by law accomodate them too. Let the kids mingle and find partners.
