Dear Community:
2012 had been a turbulent year for the community. In early 2012, our erstwhile bishop gave us rather nasty gift that is infamously known as the "Moolakkattu formula, which the beloved bishop and his cronies, especially the one(s) in the Windy City (and elsewhere), termed as the greatest discovery since Sir Isaac Newton figured out why the apple is dropping down instead of throwing itself up (known to common, illiterate folks like us as the "Universal Law of Gravitation"). Seems the bishop and the cronies, who are convinced that they are demi-gods, and who displays such arrogance and contempt towards the same "almaayar" (the illiterates) who happened to be bank rolling their extravagant and princely lifestyle, are not aware of one of Newton's Law of Motions (the Third Law of Motions), that "every action has an equal and opposite reaction". In this case, even Newton seems to bit off, in that the the reaction is not just "equal", but much stronger. They failed to realize, again, that the Knanaya community is akin to Sir Isaac's First Law of Motions "Every object in a state of uniform motion tends to remain in that state of motion unless an external force is applied to it".
The "Axis of Evil" (M, A, and M) has been busy manipulating, misleading and undermining this community for too long. We simply cannot afford to remain blind any further. The commmunity is extremely glad that KCCNA leadership is finally showing some backbone. It is better late than never.
1. We need to keep supporting KCCNA leadrship whole heartedly in this fight for our survival. We need to support the Executive Committee's request of non cooperation, more crucially, financial non cooperation. The community should realize that we cannot have the cake and eat it too. We cannot keep supporting the Syros / missions/parishes, and at the same time blame the leadership. They are doing the right thing, and need our earnest support.
2. Mar Angadiath to relieve Fr. Mutholath from all his Knanaya community responsibilities,
3. Mar Angadiath remove the use of "Knanaya" from all non-endogamous entitities, including parishes and missions under his jurisdiction. We should take the required legal actions against Syro Malabar hierarchy, if he fails to comply with this demand
4. Review the organizational set up of the Non-Peofit Organizations ("NPO"s), the vehicle that is used to collect funds from the unsuspecting contributors, who were misled to believe that the community is buying tangible assets for which the community has full control.
5. Formally submit a grievence to the US Catholic Bishops Conference (of which Mar Angadiath is a member) detailing the persecution, we, the Knanaya people, a minority within the Syro Malabar church and the universal Catholic church, are subjected to. There definitely was a hidden agenda and deliberate attempt at destroying our community, with the he;p of some traitors, position seekers and unfortunately, some of our own spiritual leaders (starting with some at the very top).
6. We should recognize that the authority who is primarily responsible for our sad predicament is none other than Mar Moolakkatt. His refusal to aggressively defend the community's interests is the root cause.
Let us be united. Most Knanaya people are not against having our own churches/parishes. What most of us are against is the non-endogamous parishes/missions, and the attempt by Mar Angadiath to redefine "Knanaya". Respectfully, defining of " Knanaya" is none of Mar Angadiath's (nor Mar Moolakkatt's) business. We, the Knanaya community, is well capable of taking care of ourselves, and our affaires. Frankly, we don't need an outsider's interference.
