  1. Dear Blogger,
What I understood from the article of Valiapithavu is the following things.

    1. The membership criteria for Knanaya catholic’s in Knanaya churches or Knanaya missions is the same in US and all over the world.

    2. Those who marries from out side Kottayam diocese can retain their membership in their respective parishes if they wish.

    3. The spouse and children of an exogamous kna ( kna who married from out side ) will not be considered as member of the Knanaya parish .

These points indicate that what our diocese was doing up to this time was just a practice to protect our endogamous nature , but according to the holy see those who marries from outside kna can continue as knanaya parish member , this clarification will create disaster situation in India. Those people who were forced to join the other parishes due to marriage can challenge that time decision. I already sent a mail to our Kochupithavu to clarify the things. In his mail to us George Nellamattam ( DKCC President ) wrote like this (Archbishop clarified that the membership criteria outlined for Knanaya Parishes and missions in North America IS NOT applicable to Knanaya Associations in North America and anyother Knanaya missions and parishes outside North America). But in his article or speech Valiapithavu never tells this. Today 04-03-2012 Knanaya Catholica Congress called an emergency meeting at Kottayam to discuss this issue. Up to this time this was as issue of American politics , now it became a threat to Kottayam diocese.
