A Letter to UKKCA President

We are writing this letter with reference to the ‘so called’ Wigan unit inauguration on 29^th December by the Vice President of UKKCA which was accompanied by the Treasurer of UKKCA. 

When the UKKCA Executive committee met MKCA committee on 4^th December 2011, you (Mr. Instain, the Prez of UKKCA) signed on MKCA’s report book confirming that Wigan unit finalisation will only take place in the next National Council meeting. When the unit has not been finalized or recognised by UKKCA, how did the V.President Mr. Shelly Philip and the Treasurer Mr. Shaji Varakkudy together formally inaugurate the controversial Wigan unit. According to UKKCA bylaw article 4,sectionA , it clearly states that a new unit can only be granted permission at the national council meeting. Under these circumstances, could you please explain this gross misconduct of these two executive post holders in your committee of UKKCA, namely Shelly and Shaji. They have seriously gone against UKKCA’S bylaw. 

MKCA’S committee met on 2^nd January 2012 and unanimously condemned this incident by these two UKKCA central committee post holders. You are all aware from the last national council meeting that Wigan is a sensitive issue and a matter of serious controversy. Anyone would understand that when such serious issues regarding Wigan has not been finalised the V.Prez and Treasurer inaugurating the unit would aggravate the situation. OR DID THEY DO IT ON PURPOSE TO CAUSE DISHARMONY AND SOCIAL UNREST IN OUR COMMIUNITY? They have not only gone against UKKCA’s bylaw but also against the written confirmation given by the central committee’s decision that Wigan would be finalised at the next national council meeting. Should we believe that Shelly and Shaji do not care about what you, the President of UKKCA has given to MKCA’S Committee in writing? We are extremely sorry to ask you, if members of your own committee under you, do not value your word even when it’s given in writing, how do you expect the General public to value your word? Even you, Steby, the Secy of UKKCA told us, the Pres and Secy of MKCA that Wigan unit would only be recognised at the next national council meeting and that you don’t know how Shelly is going to inaugurate it and you condemned the act. 

We are all the more concerned about Shaji Varakkudy, who is a member of our unit and was elected by our Gen body and then became the treasurer of UKKCA. Would you do this in your own unit? It is a highly embarrassing act by a responsible executive official of UKKCA to cause a split in his own unit, especially when it is not even recognised by the national council meeting. We deeply regret to say that we elected such a traitor to represent us at UKKCA. 

Hence, the Committee of MKCA demand an explanation from you about what action you will be taking against these two Executive members under you, in your committee. Being a responsible President of UKKCA, I am sure you will agree with us that going against the UKKCA’s bylaw and the central committee’s decision given in writing by you, the Prez, is a serious misconduct by the V.Prez and Treasurer of UKKCA who are supposed to be leading and guiding more than 5000 Knanaya catholic members of UK. Under no circumstances can this irresponsible act be ignored. 

We are awaiting a reply from you explaining the action that you will be taking against these two Executive members of your committee, who have caused great embarrassment to you and the community as a whole. Please  give us a reply as soon as possible.
