ന്യൂ യോര്ക്കിലെ (Rockland & West Chester-Bronx) പാരിഷ് കമ്മിറ്റി മീറ്റിങ്ങില് മൂലക്കാട്ട് പിതാവിന്റെ ക്നാനയത്തത്തില് വെള്ളം ചേര്ത്ത നടപടിയെ അപലപിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് പ്രമേയം പാസ്സാക്കേണ്ടതിന്റെ ആവശ്യകത പലരും ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടി. എന്നാല് പതിവ്പോലെ വിശ്വാസിയുടെ ആവശ്യം വികാരി ഫാ. കാട്ടേല് തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞു “തിരുവായ്ക്ക് എതിര്വാ” ഉയരുന്ന രീതി കത്തോലിക്കാ സഭയില് അനുവദനീയമല്ല എന്ന സത്യം അദ്ദേഹം ഭംഗന്ത്യരേണ കമ്മറ്റിയംഗങ്ങളെ ഓര്മ്മിപ്പിച്ചു. ഒരു പൊതുയോഗം വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടണം എന്ന ആവശ്യവും പുരോഹിതന് അനുവദിച്ചില്ല.

Mr. Abraham, you are teaching a valuable lesson to all that people need to hold on to certain values and uphold their beliefs. Without these nobody becomes complete.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately in todays world the main corruptors of society are 'leaders' in all forms. May it be at political, social, religious or sports level. The normal citizens are just expected to follow orders.

What is wrong in discussing the issue and if possible come up with a healthy resolution. Fr. Kattel has to stand up for the hierarchy. You as a layman can take further steps under the Layman's banner. Do not give up. Congratulations

ReplyDeleteAbraham, you tried your best to help to keep the community together. Sometimes, people and hierarchy wont learn from the experience of others, they insist on learning the hard way. Let them experience it the hard way. Don't be discouraged.
ReplyDeleteOur priest, whom we support with our hard earned money, agree that grass root level discussion is needed and yet he refuses to listen to it and take it to the hierarchy level for discussions! Because the hierarchy cannot give reasonable, sensible reply to our questions, they take the hierarchy power and often ignore our suggestions, pleas and needs.
And that is the reason our hierarchy ended up in their current situation, that they cannot even open their mouth. They lost all their respect and credibility among their own Kna people, whether they realizes or admit it or not. It is their own doing. No one else is to be blamed. What a pathetic fall!

ഇവിടെയാരോ Spiritual Abuse എന്ന വാക്കുപയോഗിച്ച് കണ്ടു. അതല്ല മൂലക്കാടനും കൂട്ടരും ചെയ്യുന്നത്. അവര് ചെയ്യുന്നതിന്റെ പേര് Spiritual Terrorism എന്നാണു.

വീടുകയറി തുടങ്ങുന്നതിനു മുന്പ് പൊതുയോഗം വിളിച്ചുകൂടി ഗ്രാസ്സ് റൂട്ട് ലെവലില് പരിചയപ്പെടുക. എന്നിട്ട് പോരെ അച്ഛന്റെ വീട് കയറി പരിചയപെടല്? കപ്പേള പണിയും പള്ളി പണിയും ഒക്കെ നാട്ടിലെ പോലെയല്ല. കണക്കും കാര്യങ്ങളും അച്ചന് മാത്രമല്ല നോക്കുന്നത് എന്ന് ഓര്ത്താല് നല്ലത് ? കട്ടപോകയാകാനുള്ള ദൈവവിധി വരാതെ പ്രാര്ഥിക്കുക, പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുക.
Deleteഭംഗിയായി പോയ്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ന്യൂ യോര്കിലെ ശാന്തതയും സമാധാനവും നശിപ്പിക്കാന് ശ്രമിക്കരുത്. പൊങ്ങാന അച്ഛന് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ചെയ്യുവാന് കഴിയാവുന്നത് ചെയ്തില്ലെങ്കിലും ഇലക്കും മുള്ളിനും കേടു വരുത്താതെ പോയി ? ഞങ്ങള് പണ്ട് പഠിച്ച പ്രാര്ഥനയും നമസ്കാരങ്ങളുമായി ഇവിടെ കഴിഞ്ഞോളാം. പാവം ജനങ്ങളെ വെറുതെ വിട്.

അച്ഛന്റെ നടപടിയില് ഞാന് സഹതപിക്കുന്നു. അവരാച്ചന്റെ രാജി സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നതിനു മുന്പായി പാരിഷ് കൌണ്സില് അംഗങ്ങളുമായി ആലോചിച്ചിരുന്നില്ല. അദേഹം ചെയ്ത നല്ല കാര്യങ്ങള് ഈ സമൂഹത്തിന് മറക്കുവാന് പറ്റത്തില്ല. രാജി സ്വീകരിക്കാതിരിക്കാനുള്ള ഒരു നടപിടിയും അച്ഛന് സ്വ്വീകരിച്ചില്ല എന്ന് മനസ്സിലാക്കുന്നു. അച്ഛന്റെ തുടക്കം അത്ര ശോഭനമാണോ എന്ന് തോന്നുന്നില്ല.
