1. First off all, the agreement was between HUSBAND of the house and the BANK. It was not an agreement between the FAMILY and the CHURCH. If the church can produce ONE agreement that had both husband and Wife's signature, you can continue to threaten. Otherwise shut up and read the Laws regarding financial agreement between a married couple and any registered establishment where the consent of one of the spouse is missing. For example, How many of you have taken mortgage as a family and only one of you signed?

2. Secondly, the agreement that was signed was between the parishioner and the KANA bank. That bank has gone bankrupt, has been shut down by FDIC, the agreement has been transferred to the new bank that took over the old bank. Can the church produce ONE new agreement between an 'individual' and the 'old' bank has been RENEWED between the 'new' bank and the 'individual'?

3. Thirdly, The Auto-Payment is only an instrument of 'convenience'!! By stopping the auto-payment, we are exercising out RIGHT to make our own financial decision. We can choose to pay using the 'convenient' way, or we can chose to pay as a lump sum to the church, or not pay at all, or pay a different lower/higher amount. Try to take that financial right from us please!

CHUMMA PARANCHU PEDIPIKYARUTHE!!

4. How many people signed up for the auto-pay? Lets say 150.
Out of them how many of them have NOTORISED SIGNATURES of the family member - None?

Out of them how many of them have NOTORISED SIGNATURES of the Church Treasurer, Priest, Bishop or other church executive - None??

Did the church give a COPY OF THE AGREEMENT to everyone who signed up - NO?

5. In exchange for a committed monthly payment, the agreement states that we are contributing to purchase a KNANAYA church. The BISHOP of Chicago Syro church who owns the said property himself has broken that agreement by declaring on Dec 20th 2012 that church is NOT-KNANYA. So dear friend, any piece of paper is of value when both sides keep their side of the bargain. If any one breaks their commitment, then the agreement is worthless.

6. To the dear Anonymous January 4, 2013 7:44 PM, as you rightly mentioned "This is USA, not your patti kaadu village in Kerala where there are no court and laws"

If you have the guts please take any one guy to court for stopping the auto-payment and watch for yourself how the USA's court and laws kick in. I'm afraid Bishop Angadiath and the insurance agency insuring the diocese will have to REFUND ALL THE AMOUNT from the beginning back to ALL the people who signed up. Any doubt? If in doubt, Sue please!

7. Lastly, if at all anyone is held liable, the only people hanging on the hook will the people who gave PERSONAL GUARANTEE to the mortgage.

Welcome to USA. Welcome to US Financial LAWS. Consult with a good Financial lawyer before threatening, not some TurboTax specialist . Good luck!
