KCASF (Miami) Rejects the recent directive from Bishop Angadiath

Dear Knanaya Catholic Community Members of North America,

Knanaya Catholic Association of South Florida strongly and unanimously reject, the recent directive from Bishop Mar. Jacob Angadiath regarding the membership within Knanaya parishes established in the St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Diocese of Chicago. KCASF only accepts parishes / missions with only Knanaya people as members (i.e. those who are born biologically to both Knanaya parents and if they are married, their spouses are also born biologically to both Knanaya parents). In the light of latest revelations, we believe that the authorities of Syro-Malabar Diocese and Knanaya Region were less than truthful and were deliberately misleading the community members over the past several years.  We believe that Knanaya region authorities failed their responsibility to safeguard the ethnic identity of Knanaya parishes and missions in North America within the Syro-Malabar dioceses. Knanaya Catholic Association of South Florida strongly support the KCCNA executive committee decision to reject the directives of the diocesan and Knanaya region authorities and not to cooperate with them until finding a resolution acceptable to Knanaya community on the membership of Knanaya parishes.
